Venice - 04/10/2014

So Verona a city on water, canals full of boats and bridges, gondalas and speed boats. The place where parts of James Bond films were shot. This is a favourite place of mine, so many shops and small maekets, the scenery of all the water ways and mounds of bridges all different in there own way. I could take pictures all day!

This day was different as the things we seen were much different. Ok we seen a church or two and a basilica, but I wanted to see the rest such as the gondolas.

We ended up here is Prada, just what Tammy was waiting for! What's that she has found?? Oh my a purse, kinda seen this coming after she looking in Versace yesterday.

So anyway Tammy walks out with this and she even asked my opinion, not quite sure what to make of it if I'm honest.... Tammy asking for opinion that is.

Anyway, enough of that coz even I eyed up a Prada bag for myself at €800+!!

So food it was Tammy had a pizza and I had lasagne, nothing special oh and a bottle of rosè between us. 

Feeling slightly tipsy as we hadn't ate much and it was pretty warm we went and grabbed a gondola ride 😃

As you can see the guy was very cheerful and he whistled some tunes as we went around and gave us a bit of a guide. We went through canals and out into the main river. As the end I let the guy hold my DSLR (lucky git) to get a snap of me and Tammy and our guide, he realised it was a pretty quick snapping camera and got trigger happy as we called him (Happy Snappy) we got off and started walking, he shouted so when are you going to pay me, I completely forgot haha. Damn it I tried didn't I 😉.

After buying an Italian made shirt and jumper we headed for the train with a few mins to spare we hopped on and get settled, so here I am writing this as we are still on the train, tomorrow is the drive back to nice for a night....yes!! Sorry gotta love nice 😜

Travel to Italy via Genoa 28/09/2014

Time to leave France behind and go to Genoa, in all fairness I don't have any photos on my phone to show you but it was a dive! I pulled in near a car park which was locked so we couldn't go in and went to see this popular lighthouse of genoa, well it was a little impressive but I didn't trust the area, it was like major oil docks, I kept looking under car to see if the engine splutter oil all over lol. 

We did visit Italy's best aquarium, which was probably the best but about it and I feel so bad but I do have one picture to show....

We was so hungry it was the only safe place to eat! It was a snack and run as we was running late but we made it to Florence about 9:10pm got checked in and but by a million Mosquitos, the room wasn't half bad but I guess it's a bed for the night. But tomorrow is Pisa & Florence :)

We are here!!! 22/09/2014

And here we are in nice arrive around 6pm as had a few issues on route.

This was coming off the ferry in Calais, surprisingly a pleasant crossing, I tried to sleep but unlucky for me some guy was smashing the slots and all I could hear was music and sound effects! Ready for getting the stool and belting him! 

So the driving begins, having regular stops for stretches and loo breaks, we made it to Avignon. This was gorgeous, the pebble stoned floor, the Art Deco in the walls and the quaint balconys. I could have stayed all day.

But we had things to see, we went and seen the Palais des Papes, Avignon Cathederal and the Pont Saint Bénézet. I will feature pictures from these on my site www.jasonparnell.co.uk/gallery this will be available on time.

We then carried on after having a sandwich by the Pont Saint Bénézet.

When arrived in Nice, Oh My God! Wow! Was way bigger than I anticipated! After scrambling through traffic and making our way to the hotel, we get a wash coz man I stunk! Haha we hit just over 1000 miles already! Filled up 3 times, once in uk twice in France.

After a wash me and Tammy did the first thing on the list, find a bar! 1 Bud, 1 Black Russian and 2 Jäger Bombs.

Today is the day!

Okay world, here we are, me and my partner Tammy about to set off on out 2500+ mile road trip to France and Italy.

Keep checking back for pictures and little posts as I will try my best to share this wonderful and exciting journey with you all.

The Plan

So here we start, the journey me and my partner Tammy Rudd will be taking starting on the 21st September 2014 arriving back on the 6th October 2014.

Well will be travelling from Nottinghamshire down to Dover in which we will catch a night ferry. 2 hour ferry trip will dock us in Calais France, from here we will travel down through the likes of Saint-Quentin, Reims, Troyes, Dijon, Lyon, Aix-En-Provence, Cannes and finally arriving in Nice in which we stay for 6 nights.

After our stay in Nice we will head for Florence, Italy. Passing through Genoa, La Spezia, Massa, Viareggo, Lucca and finally arriving in Florence in which we will spend 7 Nights.

After our time in Florence we shall then travel back into Nice to spend a night and then head back to Calais for the Euro Tunnel to arrive back home.

Totalling around 2500 miles alone in just the to and from journey.
